Take a vacation this summer that relaxes and rejuvenates you – without breaking the bank. For those in the high stress, fast paced technology environment, taking a moment to unwind is often vital to our success. A CNN article mentioned that many Americans actually forgo some or all of the allotted vacation time each year. “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” is a saying we are all familiar with, but maybe the saying should be “all work and no play reduces performance and overall happiness” (although that wouldn’t be nearly as catchy, now would it?). So, in the spirit of relaxation and forgetting your worries (even the money ones), here’s a short list of vacations that will lift your spirits:
Take a week vacation at home. Catch up on house work and all those projects you never have time for. Spend an afternoon reading in bed and an evening barbequing on the back porch. Play tag with your kids.
Be a tourist in your own town or state. Take a day trip to a nearby attraction that you’ve always wanted to see. Check out local museums, nature reserves, historical landmarks, and zoos.
Take a road trip with your spouse. Drop the kids off at the grandparents house and have some quality time with your loved one. Don’t plan a destination, just drive. And remember to have fun along the way!
We would like to hear from you! Let us know what you did on your vacation this summer.
