I was stuck in a traffic jam yesterday, the kind that detours you off of the main road and through the surrounding neighborhoods at a snail’s pace. So now, instead of rushing around, I was forced to sit still and notice the world around me. I noticed the color of the leaves on the trees. I noticed the woman carefully watering her flowers. I noticed the kid playing basketball in his driveway. All of these normal things that I usually pass by, today I noticed. And noticing them changed my attitude.
Instead of rushing around, take a moment to notice the small, every day things around you. Even just taking one moment can calm your mood, help you relieve the stress of every day life, and make you just a little bit happier.
